Documenting Dundee's Football Heritage
Exploring and charting the lost histories and familiar tales of the city's clubs.

Focusing mainly on the city's senior association sides, from the pioneers who introduced the association code to Dundee at Baxter Park on New Year's Day 1876, through the decades to the present day.
That big bang moment on a Stobswell public park created a nebula of converts to the association code, coming together to form teams at a time when outdoor leisure pursuits were no longer exclusive to the moneyed classes. Invariably, this meant that established rugby teams experimented with playing association rules and with no clear dividing line between seniors and juniors, many clubs straddled both these worlds. Cricket, athletics and cycling competed for the attention of the masses and facilities were quite often shared, forming the early multi purpose stadia.
